THE CONTENT KING

Dewi Jones

Dewi first became interested in motorsport through his father who competed in rallies earlier in life in Wales. They would attend the Supercars races at Queensland Raceway and Indycar races on the Gold Coast each year as a family.

His first formal role in the sport was through the Australian Trans-Am Series, filming races and taking photos for the series’ media coverage.

It was through Trans-Am competitors John English and Craig Harris that the introduction was made to Peter Robinson about a new series he was forming with TA2 cars from the United States, and instantly Dewi was hooked. He started the digital channels for TA2 in 2016 and has been with the TA2 family ever since.

He has also worked with several state-level categories including Saloon Cars, Excels, Production Sports and Improved Production before an offer to join the media team for the Australian Formula Ford Series from 2017 to 2019 in a media and content role.

An opportunity then arose to join the media team for the Australian Racing Group and assist with new categories they were launching.

At the same time in 2019, Dewi also looked after PR and content for teams in various support categories including Super2, Carrera Cup and visited most of the Supercars Championship events.

In 2020, Dewi was offered a contract to Supercars squad Team 18, managing the public relations and media for the team with drivers Mark Winterbottom and Scott Pye.

That became a full time position in 2021 which he continues to do to this day, along with the PR and MEDIA role with the TA2 Muscle Car Series.

“ I love this sport with a passion, and I am very proud to have been part of the launch of what is Australia’ fastest growing motorsport category.

It’s been an honour to have helped with the development of drivers like Aaron Seton, Nathan Herne, Jett Johnson and Josh Haynes.

TA2 has really made racing great again and its been extremely special to have been part of it.“
