TA2 Muscle Cars to relaunch ONE Raceway

The final round of the Hi-Tec Oils Super Series will be the first national car racing event to launch the reborn ONE Raceway—formerly known as Wakefield Park Raceway in Goulburn NSW next weekend, October 25-27.

Headlining the event will be the TFH Muscle Car Series - framed by HYTEK Steel Framing shaping up as a grand final showdown between Josh Haynes in the Herzog Steel Mustang and Brad Gartner’s Hi-Tec Oils Camaro. The TA2 series last raced at Wakefield Park in 2018 with Aaron Seton and Ashley Jarvis sharing the race wins.

In March 2023, Steve Shelley purchased Wakefield Park, situated two hours south of Sydney, adding to his portfolio which also includes the Pheasants Wood circuit at Marulan. With a background in motorsport, Shelley saw his son Jake developing a keen interest in racing so to  support this passion, they acquired a couple of Mazda MX5s, which they raced in events like Super TT and the Wakefield 300.

While the venue is now known as ONE Raceway, a  number of modifications have been made to enable the circuit to run in both directions, including the addition of new run-off areas and an extension of pit lane, which is now 400m long. The old pit exit point (which will also function as pit entry on the Shelley circuit) has been relocated towards the old Turn 2, which will make entering and exiting the track safer, while there is also a gate in pit wall that can be opened to allow easy entry and exit to the main straight for pit crew and officials just prior to race starts, along with the efficient removal of stranded vehicles

Most of the existing buildings remain however have undergone extensive renovations. New doors have been installed on the pit garages, a new concrete base has been laid down in the paddock area and the toilet blocks have also been upgraded, with further improvements still underway. International grade lighting panels, advanced timing systems  and other major investments have been made to ensure the 2.35 kilometre circuit has the latest technology to ensure safe competition.

Drivers are keen to sample the new track which has a re-designed final corner leading onto the main straight and a camber bank added to Turn 2.

Round 6 of the TFH Hire Muscle Car Series framed by HYTEK Steel Framing kicks off at One Raceway October 25-27. Fans can catch Saturday and Sunday’s action live on SBS, Fox Sports and Kayo Sports.

" One Raceway is my home track, it's where I learnt to drive and where I did my first ever race. From what I have heard the new owner Steve Shelley has spent a lot of money and made some great improvements to the track and we need it. We need Goulburn to be successful, we need that country track. I am really looking forward to next weekend."
