Seton clean sweeps TA2 Muscle Car Series in Sydney

Aaron Seton has become the first driver to clean sweep a weekend in the 2019 TA2 Muscle Car Series after he won all four races at the penultimate round of the series at Sydney Motorsport Park. SATURDAY REPORT >> http://bit.ly/TA2-Sydney-Saturday The 21-year old Castrol Harris Racing Mustang driver convincingly won both of Sunday’s ten-lap sprints to earn round honours ahead of rookie of the round Nathan Herne and George Miedecke. Starting third in Race 2, Miedecke passed Herne around the outside of Turn 5 on the first lap to hold second early, before Herne got back passed Miedecke on the inside at Turn 6 on Lap 3 which he held for the remainder of the race. Miedecke dropped back to ninth in Race 4 after encountering gearbox issues in which he was stuck in fourth gear for the majority of the race. Ashley Jarvis held off Kubota Racing's Hugh McAlister for fourth after a race-long battle in Race 3, but McAlister found form and climbed up to third after Jarvis battled a lack of tyre grip at the end of the weekend. The safety car was brought out after the Lap 2 in Race 4 after Shaun Richardson spectacularly expired at Turn 1 after the Stadium Super Trucks racer notched up his first top ten series result in Race 3 after charging from 18th on the grid. The fight for the minor top ten placings was ferocious in both races. Andrew Miedecke in the Ram Trucks Port Macquarie Challenger turned around Matthew MacKelden's Kubota Mustang at the Turn 8 hairpin on Lap 8 in Race 3 and was penalised seven grid spots as a result, but recovered to a top ten finish in Race 4. Kobelco Motorsport’s Michael Coulter scored the Wildwood Big Braker Award for his efforts in the final race to climb four spots to score his personal best TA2 race result in fourth. Coulter finished his home round in sixth ahead of Andrew Miedecke, Murray Kent, Matthew MacKelden and Masters class winner Russell Wright. Thunder Road Racing Australia’s David Falvey won the Bowden’s Own Best Presented Award in the Sunoco tribute Camaro, while Craig Vandersteldt won the Hypercoil Hard Charger Award for charging from 29th to 15th in Race 2. With one round remaining, Seton extended his lead in the Performax Cup to 40 points on 1067, ahead of George Miedecke, reigning champion Ashley Jarvis, Andrew Miedecke and Russell Wright. The final round of the 2019 TA2 Muscle Car Series heads to Queensland Raceway on November 1-3.
