Previous Racing History

With a father that had previously done a London to Sydney marathon and involved with the Holden Dealer Team in its formative years, Matt was always going to have plenty of high octane adrenalin running through his veins. He started racing Formula Vee and then saloon cars in Queensland, before stepping into a commercial role with the V8 Ute Series. During this time he continued to race taking two class wins in the Bathurst 12 Hour, one with Greg Willis in a Ford V8 Ute, and the other with Beric Lynton’s BMW team, so he can truly claim to be a “twice Bathurst winner” something he reminds Glenn Seton of on a regular basis!

In 2018, Matt raced in the SuperUte series for drivers that get off on being doped up on diesel fumes, however with the backing of Kubota he stepped up to the TA2 series in a 2 car Ford Mustang outfit with Hugh McAlister in a team run by Ian McAlister out of Young NSW. His aim is to finish in the top 10 of the series in his first year. Matt is a very passionate petrol head (now that the diesel fumes have evaporated) and hosts a national radio show with Steven Johnson called “The Driver’s Seat” which has over 170,000 listeners every week.
