Previous Racing History

Sunshine Coast racer Anthony Tenkate is a well-known American muscle car and Ford Mustang enthusiast. Tenkate first caught the bug of circuit racing by participating in regularity events in a 1967 Ford Mustang at tracks including Queensland Raceway and Sydney Motorsport Park. He then converted the Mustang to specification for the Queensland- based Australian Trans-Am Series, a tribute series catering for late 60s to early 70s American muscle cars of the legendary Trans-Am era.

He started in the Trans-Am Series in 2012 around Queensland Raceway and Lakeside Park, before he upgraded to 1969 Ford Boss Mustang in 2014. Tenkate’s involvement in Transam also included racing at the popular Muscle Car Masters at Sydney Motorsport Park and a one-off appearance in the Queensland Raceway round of the 2015 Touring Car Masters Series. Tenkate is a regular visitor to major historic races in the United States including Laguna Seca, Sonoma and Watkins Glen, and is a follower of the Historic Trans-Am Series for cars of the era that continue to race in the United States.
